Visa processing is quite straight forward for Singapore. You will need to submit the required documents through an authorized travel agent.

Singapore now provides E-visa if your application is approved. So there will not be any stickers in your passport. You will get the digital copies of your E-visa.

It took one week to get our visa. We got double entry 2 months visa and the fee was 6000 BDT in 2024. The agency was GoBDGo.

Currency

Singapore Currency

Singapore encourages cashless system so carrying cash isn't necessary. Keep 100 Singaporean dollars for security. Everywhere in Singapore, they accept international cards. I'd say we paid 90% of our expenses using our VISA & Master cards. (EBL & SCB)
Cash is needed for buying from local souvenir and chocolate shops.
You can exchange USD to SGD from the Airport or Mustofa Center in Little India.

Transportation

Taxi is expensive in Singapore. In order to save on transportation, you must rely on public transport.

Singapore's public transportation system is currently one of the best in the world. You can travel from one corner to another using public buses and MRTs. Cost per trip is around 200 BDT.

You can pay with your NFC enabled  VISA/Master cards. I recommend you buy an EZ link card from the MRT Station for 10 SGD and top up 20 SGD. Enough for 5 days.
Use taxis only for airport travels.

Google map will show you which bus or MRT you need to take. Sometimes you will have to mix and match, sometimes you need to take two trains. But it's a very convenient system and to reach somewhere, it usually takes around 10-20 minutes.

Jewel Changi Airport Skytrain
Jewel Changi Airport Singapore

You will fall in love with this ultra modern airport of Singapore. The size is huge and you need to take a train named skytrain to move from one terminal to the other. There are in total 3 terminals.

Keep around 2 hours extra to explore this beautiful place. You must see the rain vortex and digital waterfall. They are amazing!

If you have time, go to the top floor and walk around. Also the skytrain ride is free so you can also enjoy it.

For food I would recommend the 7/11 at the airport. It's cheaper than most other outlets out there. Also, buy a sim card for 14 SGD from 7/11.

Lastly, when your done, call a Grab ride to reach to your hotel. But remember they are expensive. (Around 20-30 SGD)

Day 1: Little India

If you are from the South Asia, Little India will make you feel like home. You will see familiar faces in this area. People mostly talking your languages. Lots of street vendors like in the home country. You'll find mosques, temples etc. in this part of town.

For food, there are lots of restaurant that offers Indian food. You'll also find Halal restaurants here. If you are sensitive about your eating habits, then you should plan your lunches and dinners here.

You'll find Hotels at a reasonable rate. We stayed at the Perak Hotel for 10,000 BDT a night. Most the hotels are at around this price. We really liked our hotel. It was at a great location. Both MRT and Bus Stand were close from the hotel.

Now come the attractions, in Little India you'll notice a lot of wall paintings here and there. They look so elegant that you'll not want to miss taking photos with those. Almost all the buildings are two-three stories. And a lot of them are very old. Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple is somwhat interesting to see. Buffalo street is also a good place to be at Little India.

For shopping, you'll find a lot of souvenir shops here and there and the prices are really cheap compared to other locations. Chocolates and souvenir are the main items to buy. You can also go to Mostofa Mart in Little India for other items. For groceries, 7/11 is your solution. Remember to buy EZ link card from the nearest MRT Station for covenience.

Day 2
Merlion Park | Marina Bay Sands

The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands
LV Store at the Shoppes
Sampan Ride Singapore
Apple Store Singapore

Merlion is the official mascot of Singapore. It is depicted as a mythical creature with the head of a lion and the body of a fish.

You can reach Merlion Park using public Bus or MRTs. Buses offer amazing view of the surroundings while traveling. In Merlion park, you'll see a statue of the Merlion. From this place you'll see an amazing view of the Merlion Statue, Marina Bay Sands, Arts & Science Museum, Singapore flyer and the huge bay. The adjacent walkway will surely help you to enjoy the majestic view.

You can reach to Marina Bay Sands through a mile of walk on the lake side walkway. At the end you'll see a very interesting bridge called the Helix Bridge that connects with the Huge shopping mall The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands. Right beside the entrance to the mall, a staircase went down to the Arts & Science Museum.

The mall is huge! You'll find all the luxury brands here. Don't expect to find anything cheap here. This will definitely punch in a wow factor for you. There is even a waterway where you can enjoy a Sampan Ride for 15 SGD.

A two hour walk is enough to explore the mall. You must check out the Apple Store there. It's really amazing!

You'll find a food court at the ground floor. Prices are not cheap though!

Light Shows

Spend the evening in the deck of the Mall. Later on, you can go to the Gardens by the Bay. There is a passageway through the Mall. Which will also allow you to see the inside of Marina Bay Sands

Gardens by the bay holds two light shows, one at 7:45 and the other at 8:45. Catch the 7.45 one. The light show was not bad. We liked it. It lasts about 15 minutes. Remember to keep an umbrella because it might rain!

Come back to the mall to see the Marina Bay Sands light show which occurs twice, one at 8:00 pm and the other at 9:00 pm. You'll be able to see the 9:00 pm one. You need to secure a good spot at the deck at around 8:30 pm. This light show was better than the previous one and lasted about 15 minutes.

You might see lot of dance group proacting at the deck. They perform time to time there.

You can hang out at the mall till 10-10:30 pm. Later on catch an MRT to ride back to your hotel. MRT's run till midnight!

Start the day by exploring the beautiful Gardens by the Bay. It's free!

Inside this place you'll find two places, Flower Dome & Cloud Forest. To visit these places you'll need to buy tickets. We booked our ticket via Klook. Ticket per person for both the places together was 24 USD.

Flower dome is an enclosed area full of plants and flowers. You can consider this as a well maintained indoor park. It is fully air conditioned. We really liked spending time here. It took about an hour to explore Flower Dome.

Right beside, there is Cloud Forest. It is an enclosed space with a higher ceiling and resembles a forest. You'll see cloud like mist all over this place. The artificial waterfall is the main attraction here. A lift will take you to the top part of this place and then you just need to walk your way down.

Arab Street is another place you must visit. Sultan Mosque is the main attraction there. Wall paintings of Muslim Culture, surrounding Turkish restaurants etc. give this place a unique vibe.

Right beside this place, you'll find Haji Lane. It's a narrow road that is surrounded by colorful shops. Wall paintings are found here and there. People are always coming and going. We found a very cool bakery called the French-American Bakery. The making process of their Hot Chocolate is very interesting. Although the taste was a little too sweet for us.

You'll love Arab Street & Haji Lane if you like colors & new Cultures.

Skypark | Chinatown

Keep the afternoon for going to the top deck of the Marina Bay Sands known as the Skypark. Situated at the 57th floor, this place will allow you to get an almost 360 degree view of Singapore.

The ticket for one individual was 23$. We booked the evening slot from Klook app. Went there at 5.30 pm and we stayed untill 7.30 pm. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset followed by an amazing nightview of the city.

You must visit Chinatown at night. This place feels a little different then the other parts of Singapore. You will see old 3/4 story buildings with dragon graffities, red themed shops and many people from China there.

But the main attraction of Chinatown is surely the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple. It looks so beautiful at night that you will feel like seeing something majestic.

There are three similar roads near the temple. These roads are filled with small shops and restaurants. You'll see small to moderate crowed in these roads. It feels festive. Walking around these roads will surely make you happy!

You can get souvenirs for cheap prices from the shops here. But if you want to dine in, you need to keep in mind that the prices of food is not cheap here. We had 2 pad thai, 2 drinks and a mango sticky rice. The bill came out to be 49 SGD.

If everything goes well today is the most exciting day of your Singapore Tour. You'll visit the Universal Studios at Sentosa Island.

It is advisable to get the tickets 2-3 days prior to your visit. See weather forecast before you finalize the date. We selected a sunny day and booked our tickets using Klook app. Our tickets were 56$ per pax. You can buy tickets with cash/card at the counter on the day you visit as well.

In order to get to Sentosa Island, you need to come at Vivo City, a huge mall. The station from which you'll take a train is at the top floor of this mall. You can use your EZlink card/NFC enabled VISA or Mastercard/ buy tickets at the counter to get on the train. Ticket was 4 SGD per pax. You can go to all three stops in Sentosa island using this one ticket.

Just after get got off the first stop we felt like entering into a magical world, there is Lego store, there is Hershey's store, big Universal Studios Globe etc etc. All of these will rapidly increase your excitement.

Inside the Universal Studios, everything is made in a way that will make you feel you are in a different world, away from all the stress and chaos in the world. The first area is called Hollywood. Everything is decorated like Hollywood. Vintage Hollywood to be more specific. We saw Master Tigress there. The employees of Universal Studios gladly took our phone to click some awesome pictures.

After that you'll find New York. A place decorated with miniature structures that resemble New York.

Then there's the most exciting part, Sci-fi City. This area is mostly occupied by Transformers characters and decorations. We saw Bumblebee and Megatron and took pictures. The Transformers 3D ride is something you MUST try. Very unique and exciting. My wife also won a prize playing a game.

In the same area, you'll see the most breath taking ride of the whole park, Battlestar Galactica. Oh man! What a ride it was! You are not allowed to take your phones/bags in this. So you'll have to use the free locker to keep your things safe. BG has two rides. 1, Human. 2, Cylon.

Try Human first, you'll be seated in a roller-coaster and then enjoy a thrilling ride. Then head towards Cylon, you'll be underslung from a rollercoaster. This is more thrilling that Human. Your feet will be over your head several times. You'll love it!

Passing this exciting ride you'll enter into Ancient Egypt. It looks so grand that you'll feel like you're actually in Egypt for a moment. There is a ride inside the main structure of this place. You have to try it. It's actually a rollercoaster ride but in complete darkness!

And remember this park as free drinking water booths, so keep a bottle with you.

After that you'll see the Lost World. Big statues of dinosaurs, T-rex and  pterosaurs are there. Honestly this area was the lesser fun zone of the whole park.

And finally there is Far Far Away! If you are a Shrek Fan, you'll love this area. Everything is thematic here. They made sure you feel like exploring a fairytale land. Here we saw Puss and Kitty from Puss in Boots and later on Shrek himself!

So far this was the best day of our Singapore tour. This a must visit place. But please avoid WEEKENDS.

Day 5
S.E.A. Aquarium

S.E.A. Aquarium is right beside Universal Studios at Sentosa Island. We decided to visit this on a different day because Universal Studio itself needs a whole day to cover everything.

We booked our tickets using the Klook app. Per person entry fee was 18$.

This place was really awesome. Just entering into it, you'll see a big tunnel like aquarium filled with various sea creatures. Sometime they come so close you'll feel like you can touch them!

Then there is a cylindrical shaped aquarium that is also very interesting. Some fish were so weird that it surprised us!

My most favorite part is the jelly fishes. There were 4 type of jelly fishes each with it's unique characteristics. You can see up close their movements and all. It was so amazing. One type looked like a doll!

We also saw a creature called Sea Dragon. I have never seen anything like this before!

Finally we arrived at the main aquarium. It was Hugeeeee! There were so many big fishes there that you'll be surprised. Sharks, Manta rays, Sting rays etc. a lot of species were there. We spent the most time here. Overserving the movements of the fishes. It was so fun.

A while later we saw divers came down with small fishes to feed the other fishes. This was really interesting to watch.

Overall we really enjoyed S.E.A. Aquarium.

Air Ticket

It is advisable to book tickets at least one month before you travel.

I booked my tickets through GoZayaan one month prior to my travel date.

We were two in number and for our trip I booked 2 Dhaka-Singapore-Dhaka return tickets for 95,000 bdt (Each 47,500 BDT), in May 2024.

The flight experience was top notch. There were screens in front of all the seats. The food was also very good. It took almost 4 hours to reach Jwel Changi Airport from Dhaka.

Dhaka time is 2 hours behind Singapore.
